I got my first fabric swatches from Spoonflower.com today! It is so exciting to see my drawings translated into fabric! The colors are a bit different (as can be expected with printing issues), but overall, I think they are so cool! I’m going to really have to work on creating some fantastic fabric designs!!! :) hehe. I can’t wait to use my very own fabric in my projects!!! Thank you Spoonflower! And, by the way, here’s a plug for myself…if you want to buy any of my fabrics, you can get them on Spoonflower in my shop. Here is the link: http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/kristinbell. I think I get 10% of the purchase price or something, but if you do buy any fabric, I’d love to know and would love to see anything you make with the fabric! Okay, plug over! :)

Pre-sewn Kitty

Finished Kitty

I just made this striped pink kitty who has a window to his belly where you can see the birds he has eaten. I’m quite a terrible sewer, but I think it turned out okay anyway! :)

Design Your Own Fabric!

Art, arts & crafts, Decorating, design, design your own fabric, fabric design, Fashion, Fun, Illustrated, Kawaii, Kristin Bell, quilting, sewing, spoonflower

I just found this place called SPOONFLOWER on the internet and haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds so cool! You can upload your photos or designs and have your very own fabric printed!!! OMG it seems so great! You can also sell the fabric you design on their website and get 10% of the sale! Pretty cool! And as far as I can tell you maintain all copyrights to your material too! I can’t wait to try it out. I’ll post an update when I do try it to let you all know how it goes. :) Oh yah, and they also have tons of supercute fabrics that you can buy that other people have designed! :)

New NEIVZ Rings! Yay! RAD and SWEET!

2012, acrylic, Art, arts & crafts, heart, Hello Kitty, jewelry, Kawaii, Kristin Bell, NEIVZ, plastic, rad, rings, wood

I just got these two new NEIVZ rings at a great discount. Thank you so much NEIVZ! I love them both! They are RAD and SWEET! lol I first heard of NEIVZ through the Hello Kitty rings on Fab.com. The rings and other jewelry available are made out of wood and plastic or acrylic materials I think. They are really fun and I’ve really never seen anything like them before. Check out the NEIVZ shop HERE.

My Strange Flower Art Project

2012, Art, arts & crafts, Color, Colorful, craft, fabric, flower, Flowers, Kawaii, Kitty, Kristin Bell, mixed media, paper, ribbon, sewing, sewn, strange

Here are two three pictures of my very strange flower art project. This art project is made out of sewn bits of fabric, paper, tape, buttons, label maker tape, and a bit of watercolor. It was pretty fun to make, but very time-consuming. Now I really must work on my math homework! I think it looks better enlarged, so if you want to see it bigger, just click the picture. :) I just updated this post to include a pic of it with the foamboard and the yellow border. :)

Small World Inside Second Page

I just went to the storage unit to get some stuff out, and I found my Small World brochure from when I went to Disneyland as a kid! The Small World was my favorite ride at Disneyland, and we went on it multiple times, because I loved it so much. I loved all the characters and the idea of the world being a peaceful and friendly place. I guess I still do like that idea! lol. Here are a couple of pics from the brochure. I love the artwork! The Visual System: 7th Drawing for Neuro Class

I didn’t have time to do a complete job on this one, but I got it done! lol To see a bigger image, just click on the picture.

The Auditory System: 6th Drawing for Neuroscience Class

Art, audio, audition, auditory system, basilar membrane, Biology, Brain, cochlea, drawings, ear drum, ears, hearing, Heschl's Gyrus, Kristin Bell, Medicine, Mental Health, Mental Illness, neuroscience, ossicles, Psychiatry, Psychology, Science, sound, tectorial membrane

This last week we were learning about the auditory system in neuroscience class. These are the drawings I came up with for the assignment we had to do. He said that they didn’t have to be anatomically correct and could be schematic, so the second picture is more of a schematic drawing.

Medial View Human Brain: 5th Drawing for Neuro Class

Academic, Art, Brain, cerebellum, Colorful, drawings, Education, frontal lobe, gyrus, Illustrated, Kristin Bell, Medial view of human brain, medulla oblongata, neuroscience, occipital lobe, parietal lobe, Prefrontal Cortex, Psychology, temporal lobe

I’m not quite sure if I got all of the parts in the right spots for this one. It is pretty hard to draw from multiple images and get everything in one pic. This is supposed to be the medial view of the human brain. :) Click the pic to enlarge.

Lateral Human Brain: 4th Neuro Drawing

Art, Brain, Broca's Area, cerebellum, fissure, frontal lobe, gyrus, human, Kristin Bell, lateral view of brain, medulla oblongata, neuroscience, occipital lobe, parietal lobe, pons, Prefrontal Cortex, Psychiatry, Psychology, temporal lobe, Wernicke's Area

This is the 4th pic for my neuro class. It is a drawing of the lateral human brain with only some of the parts. These are the parts we had to label.  :) You can click the picture for a larger view. NOTE: The orbitofrontal cortex was mis-labeled in this picture. It should be on the anterior part of the frontal lobe! So, I deleted the old pic and now this new one has whiteout on it. Oh well! Live and learn! :)
