I am really impressed with your site. Looks like you have some nice technical ability.

I am an artist and sell my work on Ebay.

Do you ever look at Outsider art?

Maybe I can do a painting of your kitty?

Hi Kristin,

I was reading your opinions on memoirs by bipolar and schizophrenics and it reminded me of my own opinions. We are all pretty opinionated, I guess :-)

So, anyway what I was thinking and have always thought is that memoirs can really only be written by high functioning mentally ill people. I think that is why they never ring true for those of us unable to work or go to school such as myself. I just don't think that a high powered lawyer or a doctor such as Ms. Jamesfield really understand what it is like to have so very little hope. Their illness seems to be a gloss over the rest of their life rather than the opposite which is the case for me and so many other mentally ill people.

Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. I do know that if I could write down only some of the stories in my life with all their pain and torture people could see how difficult mental illness really is. The other books out there just have not shown me that. Too bad that I am so scattered or I would write it.

Not much more to say so have a nice day,

Lance

I watched a few episodes of this show because I'd heard such good things about it, but just found it kind of disturbing. I don't know. I must have a weak stomach for these kind of things. :p

"Look Me in the Eye" was a very good memoir about aspergers syndrome. Kurt Vonneguts son wrote a book, which was very good as well. I'll have to check this one out. Thanks!
