We are all pretty opinionated, I guess :-) So, anyway what I was thinking and have always thought is that memoirs can really only be written by high functioning mentally ill people. I think that is why they never ring true for those of us unable to work or go to school such as myself. I just don't think that a high powered lawyer or a doctor such as Ms. Jamesfield really understand what it is like to have so very little hope. Their illness seems to be a gloss over the rest of their life rather than the opposite which is the case for me and so many other mentally ill people. Maybe I am wrong. I don't know. I do know that if I could write down only some of the stories in my life with all their pain and torture people could see how difficult mental illness really is.
