I made this fabric for another contest over at spoonflower.com . For this contest, we were supposed to use the donkey and the elephant and incorporate them in a way where they were kind of getting along (much the opposite of reality unfortunately)! I wanted the middle stripes to be purple as a symbol of the combining of blue and red, but it sort of turned out more blue that I’d hoped. So, I took my typewriter fabric and made a pillow out of it. I like it a lot! It took a lot of stuffing to fill it, but it is super comfy now! :) The back has black and white polka dot fleece that is available from Joann Fabrics (http://joann.com). I made this stripey black and white typewriter fabric for the weekly design contest at Spoonflower.com. If you want to sign up with spoonflower and vote for me, that would be great! Anyway, they have a different contest pretty much every week. This week it was using black and white with the theme of typewriters. I ordered the fat quarter of the fabric and got it in the mail today. I haven’t ironed it yet, but the pic is what the fat quarter looks like! I think I’m going to make a big pillow out of it. Pink kitties in the works!
Right now I’m working on these pink kitties. I’m making the eyes with felt instead of buttons, because it is for a baby. I’m hoping that babies don’t eat the other stuff on the kitty! lol I’m sewing the stuff on pretty tightly, but babies can be strangely strong! The fat fairy on the pocket is my own design! :)

Pandas in Circles!
My third panda fabric, Panda in Circles, came in the mail the other day! I just love it and wish I knew how to sew better, so I could make something awesome! lol I think the fabric turned out supercute! :) I love me some pandas! Yay!

My new skirt!
So, I had this long, black skirt that I rarely wear and I’ve been itching to use some of my fabric designs, so I decided to shorten my skirt a bit and add my fabric (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/1125222) at the bottom of the skirt! For a total newbie, I think it turned out pretty well! I’m quite excited to wear my new skirt now!!! :) Yippee!!! :)

Orange Chevrons with Balloons
I made another Calculus fabric through spoonflower (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/1187406), because I was so excited about my first Calculus fabric. Well, the material arrived in the mail today! How exciting!!! I also got my design of balloons on orange chevrons, but I have to work on perfecting the chevrons and getting it how I like it. Calculus Pillow
I just finished making my yellow-backed Calculus pillow. It has soft fleece on the back and my Calculus fabric that I made on the front. I’m totally going to nerd out now! I took my calculus homework and created a fabric!!! hahaha Other fabrics include a larger version of the playing kitty, red-white-blue kitty, a neuron, and then I wanted to show you guys what my martiannaut and Judie the Utie look like by the yard! On some I have swatches and fat quarters, because I wanted to see what the repeating pattern was going to look like. The math one is a fat quarter and just a close up of a section of the fabric. It is all so exciting!!! I LOVE FABRIC! If only it were free!!! Here is the second set of swatches that I got from Spoonflower.com. I liked the way the little girl (Celia) one turned out, except that it had a couple of holes in the black where I forgot to color in the image, so I’ve updated that and it should be fixed now. :) I think the playing kitty one is interesting, but I also uploaded another one to see what it would look like bigger. With this one it really becomes more about the pattern, which can be good for some projects! I think the little chicken turned out pretty cute too!!! :) Yay!

I got my first fabric swatches from Spoonflower.com today! It is so exciting to see my drawings translated into fabric! The colors are a bit different (as can be expected with printing issues), but overall, I think they are so cool! I’m going to really have to work on creating some fantastic fabric designs!!! :) hehe. I can’t wait to use my very own fabric in my projects!!! Thank you Spoonflower! And, by the way, here’s a plug for myself…if you want to buy any of my fabrics, you can get them on Spoonflower in my shop. Here is the link: http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/kristinbell. I just found this place called SPOONFLOWER on the internet and haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds so cool! You can upload your photos or designs and have your very own fabric printed!!! OMG it seems so great! You can also sell the fabric you design on their website and get 10% of the sale! Pretty cool! And as far as I can tell you maintain all copyrights to your material too! I can’t wait to try it out. I’ll post an update when I do try it to let you all know how it goes. :) Oh yah, and they also have tons of supercute fabrics that you can buy that other people have designed! :)
