This is my newest piece called “Tea with Angelica and Mary.” Angelica Kauffman and Mary Moser have just seated themselves for some tea that they pour from their Saartjie Baartman teapot. Above them is their silhouette of a nameless dead white guy who has apparently posed for Kara Walker.

Playing Kitty

Celia from “The Night Circus”

Chicken or Egg

Here is the second set of swatches that I got from Spoonflower.com. I liked the way the little girl (Celia) one turned out, except that it had a couple of holes in the black where I forgot to color in the image, so I’ve updated that and it should be fixed now. :) I think the playing kitty one is interesting, but I also uploaded another one to see what it would look like bigger. With this one it really becomes more about the pattern, which can be good for some projects! I think the little chicken turned out pretty cute too!!! :) Yay!

Sculpey Puppy I Made for a Friend

I just made this little sculpey puppy for one of my friends. She loves dogs and has some that are white and fluffy. The puppy is actually really tiny and it was difficult to get all of the fur on. I’m still going to try to figure out how to do it more efficiently perhaps. This is one of the first sculpey sculptures I’ve made and today is the first day of using it! So far it is really fun! :)

Review: The Shiniest Jewel-A Family Love Story

“The Shiniest Jewel: A Family Love Story,” by Marian Henley is a graphic novel that you won’t want to put down! The story of adoption, life, love, etc. told in adorable cartoons. If you have never read a graphic novel, you should start with this one. You won’t be disappointed. Maybe you are thinking “I’m an adult, I don’t do cartoon books! I need small type, 500+ pages and footnotes to believe I’m really reading.” haha. Don’t be silly. Really, you don’t need to prove to anyone how serious a reader you are! Indulge in some chocolate here! Besides, this book IS serious!
