The End of Asperger’s?
April 22, 2012 at 11:33 pm | Posted in 2012, Asperger's, Aspies, DSM-5, Kristin Bell, Mental Health, Mental Illness, neuroscience, Psychiatry, Psychology, revisions | 1 CommentI was just posting about this on Facebook, so I thought I’d drop a note about it here too. According to Scientific American Mind, May/June 2012, one of the changes that is coming to the DSM-5 (aside from dropping the roman numerals) is that they will be getting rid of the category of Asperger’s. Instead, people with this disorder will be labeled on a spectrum disorder with levels of severity noted. I’m including the short article here, so you can read more about it. It was kind of surprising to me to hear about this. I know that there are a lot of people with Asperger’s who have parts of their identity wrapped up in the diagnostic criteria. It would be like them getting rid of schizophrenia I guess. Suddenly some part of your identity is renamed. It is kinda strange. I don’t know if it is good or bad. That is part of the tricky thing about mental disorders and labels…most people with a mental disorder usually wind up having some part of their identity tied to a label. For good or bad or whatever…it just seems to happen.
Cute Stickers/Tape

I got them thru a sale at FAB.com. If you don’t know about FAB.com it is great, because you can get credits that act as real monies to buy stuff from the site. The masking sticker set is like tape/sticker stuff. Each card is about the size of a playing card. I thought they’d be much larger, but oh well. It is sometimes hard to tell from photos. The other ones are kawaii tapes that you can use for just about anything. I can’t wait to figure out how I’ll use this stuff! I’m a bit weird, because I’m very fond of office supply type products! lol

Thank you so much NEIVZ! I love them both! They are RAD and SWEET! lol I first heard of NEIVZ through the Hello Kitty rings on Fab.com. The rings and other jewelry available are made out of wood and plastic or acrylic materials I think. They are really fun and I’ve really never seen anything like them before. Check out the NEIVZ shop HERE.
Calc Example: For When You Hit sqrt(2-2cos(t)) And Need To Integrate!
April 19, 2012 at 1:08 am | Posted in Calculus, Calculus Example, College, integrals, integrate sqrt(2-2cos(t)), integration, Jon Rogawski, Kristin Bell, math, Mathematics, University, vector calculus, vectors | Leave a commentThis example almost made my brain explode! I didn’t know about the Weierstrass substitution method (see this link for more info.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weierstrass_substitution) when I began this problem…which is what I needed to complete the problem. I’m still unsure if I did it correctly, because we were supposed to find the integral over 0 to 2*pi, but the integration method only works over 0 to pi, so I ended up multiplying the answer by 2 (because 2 times pi is 2*pi) which got me the answer the book was asking for, but it seemed odd to do it that way. The question is number 18, section 13.3 from the Jon Rogawski Calc book in case you are interested. I think it is a pretty great textbook by the way…I mean as far as math textbooks go! We were also supposed to find when the speed was at its max, but I was so tired I just figured it was at pi and gave up! So, here’s the problem!
Equality for Men is Long Overdue!
April 17, 2012 at 3:34 am | Posted in 2012, birth control, Equality, Kristin Bell, Legislation of Bodies, Male, Men, Penis | Leave a commentSince people like to legislate women’s bodies so much, I say we give equality to men and legislate their penises. All they will have to do is register and license them (like guns, for example), and then they can give a report to the government every month for the times they have discharged their weapon…including target practice. LOL
P.S. It is just what Jesus would want.
Calc 4 Vector Integration Problem

We are working with vectors and all sorts of weird 3D shapes and it is strange! Here is an example homework problem. I hope I survive Calc 4!!!
My Strange Flower Art Project
April 14, 2012 at 3:55 am | Posted in 2012, Art, arts & crafts, Color, Colorful, craft, fabric, flower, Flowers, Kawaii, Kitty, Kristin Bell, mixed media, paper, ribbon, sewing, sewn, strange | Leave a commentHere are two three pictures of my very strange flower art project. This art project is made out of sewn bits of fabric, paper, tape, buttons, label maker tape, and a bit of watercolor. It was pretty fun to make, but very time-consuming. Now I really must work on my math homework! I think it looks better enlarged, so if you want to see it bigger, just click the picture. :) I just updated this post to include a pic of it with the foamboard and the yellow border. :)
Disneyland Small World Brochure from the 1970′s!

The Small World was my favorite ride at Disneyland, and we went on it multiple times, because I loved it so much. I loved all the characters and the idea of the world being a peaceful and friendly place. I guess I still do like that idea! lol. Here are a couple of pics from the brochure. I love the artwork! Click the pics to enlarge. :)
